Torassieppi, Muonio

Location

Originally a reindeer farm dating back to 1847, Torassieppi boasts wintry delights and spectacular vistas of the region and is easily accessed- Torassieppi is only a 45 minute transfer from Kittila Airport. Torassieppi is proudly offline, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the wintry delights and spectacular sights of the region.

Accommodation

Accommodation consists of a selection of classic pine cabins tucked away in the woods, kitted out tastefully with colourful Sámi rugs and antique furniture. There are eight double rooms and eight cabins, situated right on Torassieppi Lake. Five standard cabins have two bedrooms, a kitchen/living room with a fireplace and a bathroom. Three larger cabins have an additional private sauna.

Dining

Torassieppi restaurant specialises in traditional Finnish food, made from local ingredients including reindeer meat, fish and berries. It serves as a nature trail café for skiers in winter and hikers in summer, with a good range of all-day meals prepared to order. There are two kita-style restaurants: Aihkikota and Pikkukota, and Poropuirtti is a traditional Lappish house with a large fireplace, offering home-style cooking.

Facilities

Activities available at Torassieppi include a vast range of winter activities, invludomg reindeer farm visits, sleigh rides, husky safaris, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and many more. On the lakeshore, a sauna cabin offers a relaxing break from activities, alongside a lake and ice pool for swimming.
