Location
Surrounded by a romantic garden in the idyllic village of Solvorn, Walaker is Norway’s oldest hotel, dating back to 1640. Situated on the shore of the Lustrafjorden branch of Sognefjord, the Walaker is located approximately 33km from Sogndal Airport, a short car transfer taking under one hour.
Accommodation
Walakers Hotel’s unique rooms boast an atmosphere of old-world charm, with features including antique furniture, old English bathrooms, vintage wallpaper, high ceilings and decorative curtains. Rooms are situated either within the main building, standing as it did when it was a coaching inn and guest house, the annex or guest rooms, offering beautiful views of the rose garden, fjord and the valley.
Dining
A breakfast buffet is served daily, offering a mix of local produce such as homemade cheeses, fruit juices and jams, and afternoon coffees can be enjoyed in the gardens. In the evenings, a four-course menu of Norwegian dishes in served within the hotel restaurant, accompanied by the finest, selected wines.
