Introduction
Dubai's beach runs parallel to Jumeirah Beach Road, the main artery that connects Dubai Creek - the ‘old' part of the city - and the shiny modern Dubai Marina. Many of Dubai's best hotels, such as the Burj al Arab, are located on the beachfront, offering private access to sections of the sandy Jumeirah Beach. There are also a few nice stretches of public beach if you decide to leave the sanctuary of your luxury resort.
The beach in Dubai is lapped by the often-very warm waters of the Arabian Gulf. As such, travellers often prefer to take a dip in their hotel swimming pool rather than the calm sea, especially during the warmer months of the year. But the beach remains the focal point for Dubai holidays, with opportunities for water sports, camel rides and barefoot walks along the sandy shore.
