Location
Breezes Beach Club & Spa enjoys an idyllic location on the pristine, palm-fringed white sands of Bwejuu Beach on the east coast of Zanzibar – one of the most peaceful and picturesque parts of the island. You’d be hard-pressed to pick a more desirable spot than this for a truly relaxing, tropical beach break. It’s around an hour and 15 minutes’ drive from the airport.
Accommodation
The rooms and suites here are spacious, airy and elegantly furnished in traditional Zanzibar style, featuring ivory tones, teak wood finishes, cotton throws and four-poster beds. Each one is fully air-conditioned and comes with a furnished terrace and a living area, along with tea and coffee facilities. The layout is the same for all accommodation types, but the suites also offer a walk-in dressing room and a larger bathroom.
Dining
The culinary scene at Breezes Beach Club & Spa is rich in quality and variety, with a new menu crafted by the chef each day to showcase the eclectic flavours and traditions of Zanzibar, fusing together Indian, Persian, Arabic and Swahili influences. Most meals are served in the Salama dining room, which offers a bountiful breakfast buffet and a rotation between table service and themed buffets for dinner. At lunch, head to Breakers Grill for delicious barbecue dishes and the catch of the day, served right by the beachfront under the shade of palm trees. There’s also a more intimate venue, The Tides, offering exquisite private dining on the beachfront. When it comes to drinks, you have three bars to choose from (including one by the poolside), along with a tea lounge.
Facilities
Laid-back days here are typically spent relaxing in the sunshine on the beach or by the poolside, both of which are flanked by palm trees that sway gently in the breeze. The nearby coral reef is also a paradise for scuba diving, while windsurfing, kite surfing, snorkelling and kayaking are also hugely popular activities which can be arranged at the hotel’s own water sports club. When you’re seeking quieter moments, the Frangipani Spa is the place to be, with its soft, candle lighting and fragrant aromas creating a blissfully tranquil environment for massages and beauty treatments that’ll soothe and rejuvenate both mind and body. You can also choose from a whole host of optional experiences that’ll give you a deeper appreciation of the island’s nature and culture, such as a Swahili cooking class, a visit to a local spice farm and a wildlife tour at Jozani Forest.
Please note, this hotel will be closed for renovation from 3 March – 31 May 2025.
