Location
Located in an estate dating back to 1890 and surrounded by four hectares of vineyards and olive trees, the lodge is a restored house sporting vintage elements including patio and pinewood floors. It's here that you'll find the renaissance style of the villa preserved. Sweeping vistas of the Andes and row upon row of grapevines greet you as enjoy a beverage on the lodge's balcony. The high desert sun is warming during the day whilst the altitude ensures cool nights, perfect for its award winning winery; informal wine tasting is offered every evening in the courtyard. Notably, a new chamber, 'Pour Le Galerie', contains an astounding mural painted by the famous local artist Sergio Roggerone – a must see.
Accommodation
Whether staying in Club Tapiz or Casa Zolo, private bathrooms, air conditioning, WiFi, cable TV and room service are all available. With hot pressure showers, high ceilings and beautiful period doors and windows, the rooms incorporate a perfect mix of old and new. Club Tapiz offers seven exclusive rooms with Casa Zolo offering a further four. Once the governor's house, Casa Zolo is situated only a few yards from the Club allowing for further privacy and exclusivity with its own swimming pool and playroom. Dining
Restaurant Terruño combines regional cuisine with an international flair. Dishes make use of local produce such as goat, rabbit and trout alongside vegetables from the organic garden. These are then paired with the finest wines from Mendoza, to fulfil an exquisite and authentic dining experience. A must try is an Argentine Malbec paired with the national dish, asado, prepared with a spicy chimichurri sauce. The extensive wine list offers not only varietals produced by Tapiz Winery, but also major wineries in the area and ends with a special selection of national and international icon wines. In the morning, continental breakfasts are served buffet style featuring homemade jams and honey alongside freshly baked bread; hot options are also available.
