Location
Ideally positioned for cruise travellers and urban tourists alike, the Fairmont Waterfront sits harbourside in downtown Vancouver, connected via a covered walkway to the cruise ship terminal, and less than a block from the nearest Skytrain station. Vancouver International Airport is a 25-minute train journey away and from this convenient luxury base guests can enjoy quick access to Stanley Park, historic and restaurant-rich Gastown, and some of the city’s best shopping.
Accommodation
Renovated and remodelled throughout, the hotel offers a range of luxury accommodation characterised by generous levels of space and floor-to-ceiling views of the harbour, city, and mountains beyond. Those views are best experienced from a Signature Harbour View or Harbour View Corner Room, or you could choose a Fairmont Terrace Room and enjoy French-door access to a private terrace and the hotel’s extensive rooftop herb garden and heated outdoor pool. Speciality suites are available as well, including The Royal Suite, named in honour of its most famous previous occupant, Queen Elizabeth II. Guests can also opt for the Fairmont Gold experience, offering “a boutique hotel within a hotel” in the rooms and suites of the 8th and 9th floors.
Dining
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily in the hotel’s waterfront ARC Restaurant, with the culinary emphasis on fresh local ingredients. The menu draws freely on herbs, vegetables and fruit grown in the hotel’s own rooftop garden, and includes honey from their four hives and 250,000 bees. Guests can even sample the bees’ work via a pint of locally-brewed Fairmont ‘Stinger’ Honey Lager. Brunch is available from 11am until 3pm on weekends and you can also find bar food all day until midnight in the adjacent ARC Bar. Live music features Tuesday through Saturday in the bar, and in-room dining is available around the clock. All types of dietary preferences and specific diet-dependent conditions are catered for.
Facilities
Location is one of the Fairmont Waterfront’s greatest assets: not merely the convenience of its travel links and downtown situation, but also access to the walking, running and cycling possibilities of the harbour front, Sea Wall, and 10 miles of trails within nearby Stanley Park. Covering 1,000 acres, the Park is one of North America’s largest urban green spaces and also contains The Vancouver Aquarium. The hotel’s Health Club is open 24/7 and includes a year-round heated outdoor pool, indoor whirlpool and steam rooms, and a well-stocked fitness centre. A range of massage treatments are also available to book, either in the Health Club or in the privacy of your own room.
