About
Recommended for:
City | Food & wine | History & culture
Location
Situated on Aðalstræti, one of Reykjavík’s oldest streets in one of the city’s liveliest districts, the charming Reykjavík Centrum is perfectly placed for fun and a wonderful base to start an Icelandic adventure. Ideally situated in the heart of cafes and bars, there are plenty of museums, galleries and churches offering a cultural antidote too.
Accommodation
Rooms here are kitted out in a sophisticated Scandinavian style, all pinewood floor and pastel tones. Deluxe rooms and suites, as well as four sleek studio apartments, with kitchenettes and living rooms are all beautifully designed, with a calm and clean feel and all mod-cons. Junior Suites are the best rooms on the property, as you get extra space and as they are spread over two floors, the upstairs boasts a balcony perfect for a bit of fresh air.
Dining
The hotel’s restaurant, Fjalakötturinnis is rather special – as popular with local foodies as it is with guests. The menu is inventive and extensive, with the focus on regionally inspired dishes and fresh seafood, including dishes such as Icelandic pearl tomatoes and rye-bread ice cream, or smoked lamb carpaccio with blueberries, hazelnuts and thyme. The bar offers simpler but still delicious meals, along with some fabulous cocktails.
Facilities
First class hotel facilities include a lounge, bar, two conference rooms, business services and high-speed internet access, alongside a cafe and bar with a charming terrace open in afternoon and evenings.
Stay here on these holidays
Beautiful, stark and wild, Iceland's Arctic Coast Way winds 900km along the north of the country from west to east. This curated road trip takes in its unique landscapes and magnificent wildlife.
