Location
The Greater Blue Mountains is a World Heritage Area, with unique topographical combination of rainforest, towering sandstone cliffs, canyons and heathlands. The hotel itself is situated just 500m from the world-famous Three Sisters beauty point and looks out over the 4km long Jamison Valley characterised by its rocky escarpments and verdant green carpeting. Just 90 minutes from Sydney, it’s one of Australia’s most accessible wildernesses.
Accommodation
The rooms’ Wedgewood wallpaper and elegant, soft furnishings ensure that the hotel’s period grace isn’t lost. The room types are classified by the view they offer so you’ll have to choose between views of the resort and its precisely manicured gardens or the picturesque Jamison Valley. A real highlight is the marble bathrooms with full-sized baths and separate walk-in showers. Executive Suites come with a separate lounge and espresso coffee machine.
Dining
In typical luxury resort fashion, Lilianfels gives you the choice of several dining options. Its signature fine-dining experience at the multi-award winning and Hatted Darley’s Restaurant & Bar combines views of the historic formal English gardens with modern Australian cuisine.
Meals are available à la carte or in degustation menus. Look to the Orangery Restaurant for buffet breakfasts in the morning sunshine and The Lounge for all day dining in a casual setting. The Echoes Restaurant and its bar are perched right on the cliff edge and has views over the rainforest to Mittagong, 80km away – a fantastic backdrop to enjoy Asian-influenced modern Australian cuisine.
Facilities
Lilianfels is undoubtedly best known for its comprehensive spa retreat packages. With everything from massage and soak therapy to skin and body treatments, it becomes all too easy to miss out on the resort’s other facilities. After relaxing in the spa, you can burn off some energy on the tennis court or in the resort’s state-of-the-art fitness centre. Choose between the heated outdoor pool or its indoor counterpart and then be sure to explore the local area by bike or by simply taking a walk into the quaint local township
