Location
Perched right on the edge of the North Sea, this popular member of Small Danish Hotels sits proudly on the dunes of West Jutland. Below the high cliffs, the beach stretches for miles, inviting walking, sunbathing and swimming in summer. Things can be even more spectacular in winter, when the North Sea batters the coastline and the sky seems to roar with the rage of a Norse god. The nearest airport is 50km away. Trains can take you to within 8km.
Accommodation
The 33 modern rooms and ten apartments are just 800m from the beach. Apartments can be rented on a weekly basis for up to four people, giving you greater privacy but still allowing you use of the hotel’s facilities. The hotel’s popular ‘Gourmet Stay’ includes a night in double room and a five-course meal at the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant.
Dining
Despite its remote location, diners flock here from far afield to eat at the hotel’s restaurant, which features in the White Guide Nordic, the definite guide to dining in these parts. Aside from delicious food, it offers fabulous views of the dunes, the sea and Jutland’s huge skies. We especially recommend the nine-course tasting menus designed using the best seasonal ingredients and available either with or without wine parings.
Facilities
As well as the stand-out restaurant, facilities include an inviting outdoor terrace, a well-stocked bar, billiards, table tennis, free parking and an on-site shop selling homemade jams, wine and other area souvenirs. Packed lunches can be provided to take to take to the beach, the nearest golf course is just 12km away, and both fishing equipment and windsurfers can be hired nearby.
