UK to Tuscany

Days

Maremma, Tuscany
The next few days are yours to relax at L’Andana and to explore the surrounding Maremma region as you please. At the resort, days can be spent lounging in the sunshine by the outdoor pool, practicing your swing at the on-site driving range, playing tennis, enjoying guided yoga classes and making use of the first-class facilities at the ESPA spa. Here, in this softly-lit oasis of calm, you’ll find an indoor vitality pool, a steam room, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and treatment rooms where you can indulge in personalised massages and beauty treatments, delivered using natural wellness products such as essential oils, sea salts and plant extracts.
There’s ample opportunity to venture beyond L’Andana, too, with bookable experiences ranging from vineyard tours and wine tastings to countryside bike rides and horse riding adventures, all of which will deepen your appreciation of Maremma’s natural splendour. And of course, as you have the freedom of a hire car, you may also be tempted to make the short drive to the coast to discover the region’s glorious beaches and hidden coves. The historic town of Castiglione della Pescaia is certainly also worth visiting, with its hilltop medieval castle, gorgeous seafront and neighbouring nature reserve. Another excellent day trip option is to drive to the Terme di Saturnia, a cluster of natural, sulfur-rich hot springs roughly one hour and 20 minutes away.
Outstanding cuisine is also central to the L’Andana experience. Michelin-starred La Trattoria Enrico Bartolini leads the way with its experimental interpretations of classic Tuscan cooking, served in an elegant dining room with wooden beams, exposed brickwork, a fireplace and cotto tile flooring, spilling out onto a terrace that looks out towards the gardens and the hills beyond. The wine cellar is extensive, with over 600 varieties to choose from, including some sourced from the vineyards right next to the resort. Restaurant La Villa offers a more informal space for delicious lunches and dinners, surrounded by Mediterranean pines and cypress trees, while a delectable spread of breakfast dishes is freshly prepared every morning. Expect the likes of warm pastries, homemade yoghurts, fresh fruit, Tuscan cold cuts and cheeses, and eggs made to order.
