Set amongst some of Norway's most spectacular scenery deep inside the Arctic Circle, the luxurious Lyngen Lodge offers a truly remarkable setting from which to see the Northern Lights. This tailor-made holiday begins with a night in Norway's Arctic capital, Tromso, before an included transfer brings you deep into the wilds of the Lyngen Alps. Then, as you settle into your stylish, log-cabin accommodation, you'll look forward to an included programme of excursions, beginning with a Northern Lights presentation and culminating with a thrilling snowmobile and ice fishing adventure, and the chance to mush your own pack of eager huskies on a trip into the remote Reisa Valley.

1
UK/Tromsø
Enjoy included airport lounge access before your flight to Tromsø. On arrival, we have arranged a private taxi transfer to the Clarion Hotel The Edge, ideally located right near the harbour. The rest of the day is yours to explore the city. In the evening, head out to one of the city's many top-class restaurants and delve into its lively pub scene before perhaps joining an optional tour to catch your first glimpse of the Northern Lights.

Lyngen Lodge
Transfer by road to Lyngen Lodge – all roaring fires and floor-to-ceiling windows – around three hours' drive from Tromsø. Checking in for a three-night stay, you'll have time to relax in one of the lodge's hot tubs before heading down for the first of your included gourmet dinners, each a showcase for the region's seasonal bounty. It's then time for a presentation on the Northern Lights, with tips from the experts on how best to photograph the aurora, followed by the chance to head out into the snow to hopefully put your newfound skills into practise.

Lyngen Lodge
These two days are given over to the joys of Arctic exploration, with an included programme of activities that bring you out into the wilderness on snowmobiles and husky sleds alike. Your first day will be given over to the man-made power of the snowmobile as you race up through snow-dusted birch forests to a high mountain plateau. Here, on a frozen lake, you'll try your hand at ice fishing, drilling holes in the ice and gathering around a roaring fire to cook and eat your catch. Then, on your second day, you'll swap petrol for paws as you mush your own team of huskies, under the supervision of an expert guide, through open valleys and past jagged peaks to arrive at a remote camp to enjoy a delicious lunch, again cooked over an open fire. At the end of each action-packed day, return to the lodge for more delicious dinners, hot-tub soaks and relaxing evenings in the oversized armchairs of the lodge's stylish yet cosy lounge.
