This tailor-made no-fly journey combines the best in Swiss rail travel with the delights of some of Europe's favourite regions. From Zurich to the Alps and even one of France's wine-making capitals, Dijon, you'll enjoy spectacular views, charming city culture and great food and wine. You'll take in the Bernina Express railway, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as the world's slowest express train, the Glacier Express, on a scenic passage through the natural beauty of the Alps.

Zurich via Paris
You'll start your journey departing from London on the high-speed Eurostar in Standard Premier comfort, with included meal and wine. On arrival in Paris Gare du Nord station, choose to take a taxi or the Metro to Gare de Lyon station for your onward journey, connecting from Gare de Lyon to Zurich on the TGV Lyria. You'll check in to the Hotel Marktgasse with time to relax in your modern, airy room or explore the city for the evening. You're in the perfect location in the heart of Zurich, close to the old town area, Niederdorf, which boasts some of the city's best nightlife.

Zurich / Zermatt
Transfer to the train station in Zurich and travel by train to Zermatt lying at the foot of the Matterhorn and offers plenty of things to explore. On arrival in Zermatt, you'll transfer to the Hotel Alpenhof. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and don't miss out an optional excursion to the Gornergrat, a cogwheel train has transported passengers from the station in Zermatt to an altitude of 3089 metres since 1898, across stunning bridges, through galleries and tunnels, idyllic forests, past gorges and mountain lakes. The iconic view from the Gornergrat platform is dominated by the Matterhorn along with another 29 four-thousand metre peaks forming an impressive mountain panorama completed by the Gorner glacier, stop along the way to enjoy hiking and walking trails before return back to Zermatt.

Glacier Express: Zermatt / St.Moritz
After breakfast board the Alps' most famous train the Glacier Express for the 179-mile journey to St. Moritz. Often called the slowest express train in the world, the Glacier Express takes you past snow-dusted peaks, dense forests, rushing rivers, Alpine meadows and Swiss mountain villages at near glacial speeds, giving you plenty of time to savour the ever-changing scenery from the comfort of your Panorama Car, which even has windows in the roof.

St. Moritz / Bernina Express / Lugano
After breakfast at the hotel. Board the Bernina Express, travel over circular viaducts and pass through winding tunnels before reaching Tirano in Italy. Change to the Bernina Express bus which will take you onwards to Ticino. Overnight in Lugano.

Lugano / Gotthard Panorama Express / Lucerne
Breakfast at the hotel. The Gotthard Panorama Express travels from the Mediterranean south to the traditional heart of Switzerland. From Flüelen you will have a boat ride over Lake Lucerne.

Lucerne / Zurich
Enjoy time in Lucerne before boarding your train back to Zurich for your last night in Switzerland. You'll check in to the Hotel Marktgasse with time to relax in your modern, airy room or explore the city for the evening. You're again in the perfect location in the heart of Zurich, close to the old town area, Niederdorf, which boasts some of the city's best nightlife.

Dijon
Today you'll depart Zurich for Dijon, the capital city of the historic Burgundy region in eastern France. Your hotel for the night, the Maison Philippe Le Bon, is situated just a two minute walk from the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy, which holds a vast collection of historical artworks and sculptures. As well as being famous for its mustard, Dijon is one of the wine capitals of France, with a lively atmosphere that continues from day to evening. The following morning, you'll experience the Historic Dijon Market & Food small group walking tour. Along with an expert local guide and a maximum of 8 guests, you'll discover Dijon's hidden gems and taste local delicacies including gingerbread and kir, before returning to your hotel for a well-earned rest.

London via Paris
