Brazil, the fifth largest country in the world, hides a continent's worth of highlights within its borders. Teeming rainforests, sparkling beaches and iconic megacities can all be found here, along with a people and culture with a deserved reputation as one of the most welcoming on earth. This tailor-made tour begins in Rio, where the outstretched arms of Christ the Redeemer greet travellers from the summit of Corcovado, you'll fly to Manaus for an Amazon adventure, and visit the colonial gems of Salvador and Ouro Preto. The grand finale is Iguazu Falls, where 200 or more spectacular waterfalls thunder over a horseshoe precipice.

Rio de Janeiro
Upon arrival in Rio de Janeiro you will be met and transferred to your hotel located on Copacabana Beach. Then, between independent explorations, you'll enjoy three three days of included tours, taking in the best of the city. Begin on day three with a half-day excursion to Sugar Loaf Mountain, taking in sweeping sunset views from its lofty summit.The next day, you'll board a train to the top of Corcovado for a close-up view of its Christ the Redeemer statue before delving into Rio's nightlife with a show and barbecue dinner. Finish off your stay in the city with a half-day jeep tour to the Tijuca Forest where you might see monkeys and toucans living among its verdant canopy. A BBQ dinner is included on day four only.

Amazon
Early morning flight to Manaus and then a 3.5 hour transfer to your lodge in the heart of the Amazon jungle on the banks of the Rio Negro. Spend three unforgettable days discovering the unique flora, fauna, customs and culture of the Amazon rainforest in the company of expert guides, who'll be on hand not only to impart their knowledge, but also to point out the abundance of incredible wildlife hidden among the dense jungle foliage. Guests staying at the Amazon Ecopark Lodge (superior) will have the chance to visit the rehabilitation centre at Monkey Forest, take a nighttime tour in a traditional paddle canoe in search of alligators and other nocturnal creatures; visit the Meeting of the Waters at the confluence of the Negro and Solimões rivers; and hike through the rainforest where you'll discover first hand the incredible biodiversity of the Amazon. Alternatively, go for our deluxe option to go in search of the Amazon's pink river dolphins, take a guided walk through the jungle, visit beautiful Lake Anavilhanas and enjoy a fun fishing trip in wooden canoes for the chance to snag some piranhas.

Salvador
Salvador, in the northeast of Brazil, is a beautifully preserved colonial city with fascinating history and lively Portuguese-African culture. Enjoy a historical tour of the colourful capital of Bahia region, wander the cobbled streets of the Pelourinho and a full day schooner cruise, visiting islands in the bay that surround the city. There's also mile after mile of beautiful coastline to explore to the north of the city, so once you're finished with the culture, grab your sun cream and swimmers and spend a day soaking up the sunshine on one of the region's fabulous beaches.

Ouro Preto
Fly to Belo Horizonte and drive through rolling hillside scenery to Ouro Preto, a wonderfully preserved 18th century town - a colonial jewel and UNESCO World Heritage Site with cobbled streets, fine baroque churches and mansions. The next day, on a full-day walking tour, you'll discover Ouro Preto’s rich heritage at its São Francisco de Assis church, the Oratorio Museum and the Opera House.

Iguaçu Falls
Fly to the spectacular Iguaçu Falls and check into your chosen hotel. Taller than Niagara Falls, wider than Victoria Falls and surrounded by beautiful subtropical rainforest, this border-straddling spectacular is one the world's most impressive natural wonders. Guided tours will take you along winding boardwalks to explore falls' Brazilian and Argentine perspectives.

Iguaçu Falls/UK
