Introduction
Krk Town is the aptly named main town of popular Krk Island. Connected to the mainland by a bridge at its northernmost point, the island (home to Rijeka airport) provides the main gateway for people flying into the Kvarner region.
Krk Town is situated to the south of the island away from the bustle of Rijeka, and has a long-standing religious history, with sights including the Romanesque Cathedral of Assumption, around which the old town sprawls.
With pretty pebble beaches and cultural entertainment events such as the Krk fair, it's no wonder that Krk Town is such a popular destination. Although this isn't the place to come to avoid the crowds, the area's long history as a tourist destination proves that this island hotspot has a lot to offer.
