Perched high above the royal city of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan Palace is the last of the great palaces of India. Completed in 1943, it is still the residence of the Jodhpur royal family. Designed in an opulent colonial style by the renowned Edwardian architect Henry Lancaster, Umaid Bhawan Palace blends influences from both east and west into what is still one of the largest private residences anywhere in the world.
The hotel has 64 lavish guest rooms and suites, offering guests a privileged experience. Rooms and suites are very spacious, and feature stunning art deco design and antique furnishings. Sitting alongside its traditional splendour, each room is kitted out with modern amenities, including large LCD televisions, Wi-Fi, extensive pillow menus, and Molton Brown toiletries.
The hotel offers splendid fine-dining options. These include the magnificent Risala, which serves a blend of international and Indian dishes, in opulent surroundings. Pillars is an al fresco option, set outside on the veranda, it's a great place to enjoy breakfast in the cool desert mornings. The Jiva Spa provides guests with the perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate after a day exploring Rajasthan's blue city. There's also indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a yoga studio, snooker room and beauty salon. For guests wishing to learn more about the palace's history, a champagne museum walk, taking in the Palace Museum's fine collection of antiques with fizz in hand, is the perfect option.
