Less than an hour and a half from Tromso, Malangen Resort is a big hit with our staff and clients, due in no small part to its incredible setting on the shores of a quiet fjord surrounded by snow-covered mountains. What's more, with its privileged location far from any light pollution, it's the perfect spot for viewing the aurora. To make the most of your stay, we've included a guided Northern Lights Watch at nearby Camp Nikka, where your expert guides will keep watch throughout the night to maximise your chances of seeing this incredible natural phenomenon. You'll also enjoy a night Tromso, where optional excursions range from husky sledding and snowmobiling to Northern Lights cruises to fjordside sauna & Jacuzzi.

1
Tromso
Start your holiday in style with included UK airport lounge access before your flight to Tromso. On arrival, take the airport shuttle to the city centre and check into your hotel, located right by the harbour. You'll then enjoy an evening at leisure, perhaps popping into a pub or two before heading for dinner at one of the city's many superb restaurants – ask our specialists for their recommendations. You might also choose to join an optional nighttime excursion in search of the Northern Lights. These trips are popular, so booking in advance is a must.

Malangen Resort
Today is left free to enjoy the many optional excursions available from Tromsø, including exhilarating husky and snowmobile safaris or a more sedate yet equally enthralling, whale-watching tour. In the late afternoon transfer to Malangen Resort for a two-night stay. This wonderful lodge-style hotel features a selection of red-timbered fisherman’s cottages set right on the shores of a beautiful fjord.

Malangen Resort
Spend a morning either relaxing in the resort’s sauna or on an optional husky or snowmobile excursion through the Arctic wilderness to a traditional Sami Lavvu (herdsmen’s hut). This evening you'll enjoy a Northern Lights Watch at Camp Nikka, beginning with a talk from your expert guide about this incredible natural phenomenon. Following the talk you'll head out into the frozen wilderness in search of the aurora. If your first excursion is unsuccessful you'll return to Camp Nikka to sleep, while your guides keep watch, waking you with a Sami song as soon as the lights appear so that you can resume the chase.

Depart for UK
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a final morning at Malangen Resort before transferring back to Tromsø in time for your flight home.
