Location
Sheltered between ancient pine and spruce forests, Arctic Retreat boasts an intimate setting, offering personal service and exclusive warm hospitality. Located beside the scenic Råne river, the surroundings allow you to reconnect and fully immerse yourself with the pristine nature. Arctic Retreat is just an hour transfer from the nearest airport in Luleå and approximately 40 minutes from Boden train station.
Accommodation
Featuring just three traditional log cabins, each with their own cosy fire place and private Jacuzzi, guests can take advantage of floor to ceiling windows, meaning boundless views of the wonderful surrounding nature, and perhaps even the elusive Northern Lights. Arctic Retreat is the perfect winter getaway; the stunning wilderness allows you to enjoy a wide range of arctic activities such as husky sledding, snowmobiling, forest skiing, snowshoeing and Northern Lights hunting among many others. What's more, on all of the featured activities, you will have the full services of a private knowledgable guide at your disposal.
Dining
With warm and down-to-earth hospitality at the centre of the retreat's offering, a small communal on-site restaurant serves guests a variety of delicious local dishes. All meals are included in the room rate, although you'll have to pay extra for accompanying alcohol. Breakfasts are hearty and filling, with the likes of eggs, toast, cereals, local jams and fruits providing much needed fuel for days in the wilderness. As you will likely be enjoying activities during the day, lunch is usually an outdoor affair, often served between activities and making the most of the rich variety and local produce; typically consisting of the likes of reindeer stew and fire-cooked salmon. For dinner, you can expect food inspired by local cultures, creating a feast that can last as long as three hours at a time. If you prefer dining in private, Arctic Retreat can also arrange breakfast and dinner around a table from the exclusivity of your own cabin.
Facilities
Cabin amenities feature a bathroom with toilet and shower, and a fireplace stocked with firewood. Each cabin's deck also includes a private outdoor hot tub. Facilities at Arctic Retreat include a traditional wood-fired sauna, a communal lounge cabin and even the services of a private masseuse can be arranged.
