Location
Cable Mountain Lodge is located on the edge of Zion Canyon Village, with easy access to its amenities, including boutique delis, village bakeries and an art gallery. Since all walking traffic into the national park must enter through the village, the lodge is sited at the confluence of multiple hiking trails that make their way up the canyon.
Accommodation
Clad in a patchwork of locally-sourced stone, the lodge and its gently gabled roofs blend almost seamlessly into their rocky surrounds. To give you that private residence feel, each of the 50 rooms have their own entrance and all are uniquely designed. Inside, expect a natural palette of warm browns, punctuated by deep reds on both the 300-thread count bed linen and the interiors themselves. Upgrade to a Luxury/Classic Suite for a private balcony or patio and a fully equipped kitchen while The Judy Ann Suite also offers a jetted tub bath, a fireplace and uninterrupted national park views.
Dining
Attached to the lodge, in true frontier fashion, is a small tavern that serves a range of homely dishes, perfect to come back to after a day’s hiking. It also features several delicious craft beer options. Additionally, with the village only a short walk away, the hotel offers discounts on several nearby restaurants. A particular highlight is Thai Sapa; just 100 metres down the road, it serves excellent Southeast Asian food with an inviting menu. Alternatively, stock up on provisions from the local supermarket or health food store to cook at your leisure in your suite’s kitchen.
Facilities
While the lodge’s biggest draw is undoubtedly its atmospheric site combined with an unrivalled location, there are several amenities that make your stay that bit more comfortable. Of these, the heated swimming pool and spa with views over Zion Canyon and Virgin River is a real highlight while the convenience of the Springdale town shuttle service is not to be underestimated. You’ll also find a footbridge that links the lodge to the national park, the visitor centre and the Zion Canyon shuttle bus. At day’s end, stay connected with the high-speed WiFi.
