Location

The luxury lodge is situated on one of the largest lakes of the exclusive Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, forming part of the greater Kruger National Park. The nearest airport is Hoedspruit, receiving daily flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town. From here, guests are transferred by light aircraft to Sabi’s private airstrip, or by road. The lodge is approximately five hours from Johannesburg, making a suitable self-drive destination.

Accommodation

The stylish retreat offers accommodation in six suites, all individually adorned with a bathtub, indoor and outdoor showers, private-lake view and plunge pool, framed by a spacious timber deck that offers excellent game viewing around a popular drinking hole. The luxury suites vary from 130-180 square metres, balancing unpretentious style with complete comfort.

Dining

Meals are as much a social feast as a culinary one; Chitwa ensures a relaxed atmosphere for sharing the day’s excitement as lunch and breakfast are served in the thatched lapa overlooking the lake and dinners served in the open-air boma around a fire. Dining experiences are varied according to the duration of your stay, often featuring an intriguing combination of African and Mediterranean dishes, accompanied by a selection of wines from the unique, Italian wine cellar.
