Encircling Peninsula Lake, Deerhurst is a year-round resort, located on the edge of the Algonquin Provincial Park. Set within 800 picturesque acres on Peninsula Lake, Deerhurst Resort is situated just outside Huntsville, a two-hour drive from Toronto and an ideal stop on a self-drive tour of Ontario. Voted as one of National Geographic Traveller Magazine’s ‘Best in the World’, the resort is situated near several points of interest, including Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area, Treetop Trekking Adventure Park, Muskoka Heritage Place, Algonquin Provincial Park and Blue Mountains.
Accommodation
Take your pick from a choice of rooms at Deerhurst. Pavilion and Lakeside Rooms are welcoming, and conveniently situated close to the waterfront. The cosy, lovingly-maintained rooms feature either king or queen beds, are comfortable and spacious and most offer a private balcony and terrace. All rooms have been beautifully renovated to offer sleek and modern comfort, with the option of Condo rentals with full kitchen facilities.
Dining
Deerhurst offers four excellent dining options with the Eclipse Dining Room, Compass Bar & Grill, Maple Pub & Patio and Steamers Steakhouse & Bar (the latter two are only open during the summer months). These offer a great variety of styles and menus and covering everything from fine dining to light meals and cocktails.
Facilities
The list of activities on offer here is almost endless. During the summer months there is hiking, treetop treks, horse riding, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boards, water skiing, wake boarding and golf. During the winter when the countryside Is blanketed in snow the focus changes to downhill skiing, ice skating, dog sledding, snowmobiling and sleigh rides. In addition there is also a full service spa.
