Jungle Beach Resort, Trincomalee

Location

The Jungle Beach Resort is part of Uga Escapes, and offers you the perfect introduction to Sri Lanka’s beautiful east coast. Located in Trincomalee, the resort feels like it is in the jungle, yet is situated right on the beach. Part rustic, part contemporary, the resort is ideally located for day trips to the hot springs at Kannya, visits to Koneswaram temple, and activities off the coast of Kuchchavali.   

Accommodation

There are 48 modern and luxurious villas at the resort, which are crafted from natural materials and offer spectacular views of the ocean. All are spacious at 650 sq ft, have king-sized beds, high-end entertainment systems and private decks. Take a Beach Cabin for views of the azure Indian Ocean, or a Jungle Cabin for an outdoor living space featuring two day beds, a dining table and chairs. If you’re travelling in a group, take a Jungle Cluster Villa, which is part of a cluster of villas that share a private pool. 

Dining

You can either dine at Jungle Beach’s restaurant, or enjoy a private dining experience. The restaurant serves the authentic flavours of Sri Lankan cuisine, offering traditional recipes made with local, organic ingredients. Dishes include freshly caught seafood, spicy curry and rice, simple salads or, if you’d prefer, Western cuisine. Alternatively, try private dining, which allows you to dine anywhere you wish, including on the beach, or with a lush jungle backdrop. 

Facilities

For indulgent wellness treatments, visit the resort's excellent spa. If you’d like to get active, there are many options available. Try horseback riding, yoga, cooking classes, cycling, or whale and dolphin watching in May – October. If you’d prefer, just relax with a morning dip in the sea, snorkel among the colourful reef fish, or partake in age-old local traditions and culture.
