Location
Kinodo Kwetu enjoys a secluded location towards the southern end of Galu Beach on Kenya's Indian Ocean coast. It's nestled among tropical gardens and fringed by pristine white sands, and with the nearest hotel two kilometres away, it retains an intimate and tranquil ambience – perfect for laid-back days spent basking in the sunshine by the beach. It's also easily accessible, around 30 minutes from Diani Airport and around an hour and 20 minutes from Mombasa Moi International Airport.
Accommodation
Dotted throughout the gardens of Kinodo Kwetu is a small and intimate collection of villas, cottages, suites and rooms, each individually decorated with artefacts and design details that reflect local traditions. Think whitewashed walls, local handicrafts, original artworks and private verandahs with ocean-facing views. Options range from individual rooms to interconnecting family rooms and even an exclusive-use villa equipped with a private kitchen and open-plan living room.
Dining
Dining at Kinodo Kwetu places a strong emphasis on local flavours and fresh, sustainably-sourced produce. While set menus are served for lunch and dinner, the kitchen staff will gladly accommodate individual preferences. There's no fixed restaurant, either, as meals are served in a variety of locations throughout the grounds, such as in the shade of the gardens, beside the beach, or under the stars by night. As such, each meal is a completely unique dining experience to look forward to.
Facilities
There are two swimming pools at Kinodo Kwetu; one larger, deeper pool, and another smaller pool that offers plenty of shade from the trees in the afternoon. The soft, white sands of the private beach are only ever a few steps away, while the ocean water is pleasantly warm and ideal for swimming, with temperatures typically in the region of 28-32°C throughout the year.
