Location
Stretching over 900 square miles of plains surrounded by gently soaring mountain ranges, Mustang Monument offers an idealised Wild West experience. From horseback excursions and guided desert hikes to lassoing and horse-drawn wagon rides (all included in your nightly tariff), you’ll take to grasslands and craggy peaks as you listen to tales about the area’s ranching and Native American past.
Accommodation
The hotel’s signature accommodation, its luxury tipis, are designed for those seeking a blend of nature and nurture. Spread out over 300 square feet, tipis feature hardwood floors, plush leather chairs and a kaleidoscope of Native American rugs. Their canvas walls are tastefully decorated in indigenous motifs and colours. Open plan Safari Cottages, on the other hand, are done up in true rustic-luxe with studded leather sofas and oversized beds combined with reclaimed furnishing and wooden accents. Enjoy a sunset glass of wine on the deck with breathtaking grassland views with all snacks and beverages included.
Dining
Gone is the tinned grub of the original California Wagon Trail as Mustang Monument’s al fresco kitchen serves up a selection of local, organic produce sure to delight. Breakfast on the sun-drenched verandah on smoothies, freshly baked breads and cooked delights while, for lunch, modern day pioneers can also tuck into artisan wraps and sandwiches, pink lemonade and indulgent, freshly-made brownies. Returning home, carefully curated hors d'oeuvre are served with cocktails before a four-course gourmet dinner. Think expertly grilled beef fillets and a variety of gastronomic options all served up with Mustang Monument’s very own wine. All meals and drinks are included.
