Location
The inn sits in the small community of Norris Point, in a convenient position within the Gros Morne National Park, picturesquely situated above the waters of the Bonne Bay fjord and 5 miles from the Park’s administrative centre at Rocky Harbour. Gros Morne is an area of outstanding natural beauty and spectacular scenery and is located on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland. The Inn itself is about an hour by car from Deer Lake Regional Airport, and five hours from Port aux Basques, where ferries arrive from the Nova Scotia mainland.
Accommodation
All 15 rooms at Neddies Harbour are of the same clean and highly comfortable standard, with a choice between king-sized and queen-sized, and one suite available. Guests also have a range of views to choose from, and the option to enjoy either morning or evening sun. All rooms have private bathrooms, with the suite including whirl tub and shower. The suite is also wheelchair-accessible. Larger parties, or visitors preferring a little extra privacy, can rent one of two private three-bedroom cottages, located a short distance away from the Inn.
Dining
Room rates at Neddies Harbour include a continental breakfast which features home-made breads and different cooked items each day. The hotel also contains its own gourmet restaurant, The Black Spruce, offering dinner between 5pm and 8:30pm each evening and the perfect place to unwind and reward yourself for a day out hiking in the Park. All food served is made from scratch in the kitchen and the ingredients, in keeping with the Inn’s commitment to sustainable and environmentally sensitive practices, are as fresh and as local as possible.
Facilities
Gros Morne Park is renowned for its spectacular geological features and pristine natural beauty and Neddies Harbour offers the ideal base for exploring everything it has to offer. Whether you’ve been hiking, kayaking, swimming, picnicking, cycling, cross-country skiing, or cruising the fjords, the Inn offers a tranquil haven at the end of the day. All guests are free to use the hotel’s infra-red sauna, hot tub, and fitness centre. There is also a common room to relax in and enjoy the marvellous views, with several sets of binoculars available as well as a selection of games and books.
