Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp, Namibia

Location

Situated on the edge of a wilderness area, the luxurious Bush Camp is the premium accommodation option at Okonjima, offering guests a high quality and truly exhilarating experience filled with wildlife encounters. Less than three hours from Windhoek and mid-way between Etosha and Windhoek, Okonjima is ideally accessed for self-drive itineraries but flights to the private airstrip can also be arranged.

Accommodation

Accommodation comes in the shape of eight thatched chalets and a honeymoon suite, furnished in true African style and equipped with mini bars, safes and en-suite bathrooms. Rooms have panoramic wrap around glass panels and canvas windows that allow unrestricted views of the savannah - and resident wildlife.  Each room also has an adjacent, open air 'sala' - or lounge area - which comes complete with yet more panoramic views, supremely comfortable day beds, minibar and coffee station. 

Dining

Personal chefs cook meals within a private kitchen, with 'bush camp' cuisine maintaining a distinct, African flavour. During the dry season, meals are served on the outdoor terrace overlooking the waterhole, providing all day game viewing opportunities. 

Facilities

Facilities at Okonjima Luxury Bush Camp include a secluded swimming pool, curio shop and lounge area offering outstanding views of the surrounding wilderness. Enjoy the game drives on offer – a highlight of which are the leopard tracking safaris – watching animal feeds, carnivore tracking on-foot birding and walking along bushman trails. Guests are also invited to learn about the AfriCat Foundation, a project committing itself to the long-term conservation of Namibia’s large carnivores and endangered species.
