Location

Accommodation

A stay here is an intensely evocative experience. Spread throughout the grounds, the suites feel more like private residences, and the attention to detail that’s gone into each is remarkable. Expect vaulted timber ceilings, romantic, canopied four-poster beds constructed for the British Raj and their families in the 1840s, Keralan terracotta floor tiles that are wonderfully cool underfoot, spacious verandas, 400-thread-count cotton sheets, private walled gardens or courtyards, waterfall showers and exquisite bathrooms with freestanding, hand-carved granite bath tubs.

Dining

Reef Villa & Spa is renowned for its attentive staff and superb service. There are two state-of-the-art kitchens, and you can choose to dine either in the restaurant, by the pool beneath the stars, or in the privacy of your own suite. Menus feature daily specials, catches of the day, both international and Sri Lankan favourites, and an excellent accompanying wine list. 

Facilities

A panoply of scrubs, wraps, polishes, cocoons, steams and massages await at the Reefresh Spa. The pool, sunk into a billiard-smooth lawn and surrounded by palm trees, is another obvious draw, as is the beach that awaits out front. Beyond that there’s yoga, a jogging track, tennis and table tennis, chess and other board games, a cosy library and even firework displays.
