The Sanctuary Sun Boat IV makes for an elegant, luxurious base for exploring the regal wonders of Egypt’s Nile river. Following a complete refit in 2018, furnishings are ultra-contemporary, all teakwood flooring and cutting-edge technology alongside a strong art deco influence in the 40 exquisite cabins and suites. Choose from cabins, that boast floor-to-ceiling windows, or balcony-adorned Presidential and Royal Suites in opulent tones that overlook the Nile.

Come evening, award-winning chefs create an a la carte menu – included throughout – in the stylish restaurant that’s all hand-painted walls and deep leather chairs as well as afternoon tea, extensive wine lists and barbecues on the upper deck.

In between exploring the Nile's onshore splendours, days are spent enjoying dips in the sun deck's river-view Egyptian marble-framed swimming pool and drinks in the open-air lounge bar. If the weather doesn’t comply, take advantage of the gym and library – there's even an in-house cinema. Or, treat yourself and opt for an indulgent massage. Children are more than welcome, with onboard specialists on hand to educate and entertain.

Guests have a choice of itineraries, with all excursions led by expert Egyptologists in small groups. Whichever you choose, all sailings enjoy colourful ‘galabeya’ parties where guests dress in traditional Egyptian clothing, belly dancer performances, Egyptian cooking lessons and onboard lectures.
