Location
As the original Singita Lodge, Ebony stands amongst enormous trees along the banks of Sand River in the heart of South Africa’s ‘big cat country’. Ebony Lodge can be reached quickly by air, and the lodge can arrange scheduled flights or private charters, landing at Singita’s airstrip, located 10 minutes from the lodge. Johannesburg to Singita Sabi land takes approximately one hour, alternatively by road is 6.5 hours or just under three hours from Hazyview.
Accommodation
A fresh and contemporary interpretation of the classic safari lodge, Ebony combines tented camp and bush lodge style, inspired by romance and adventure. The lodge is made up of 12 suites, each with its own plunge pool and canvas and glass-creating a new safari tent style- ensuring the best game viewing in the area. Two of the 12 suites are double family suites, and all rooms feature indoor and outdoor showers, spacious bathrooms, private wooden deck and a colonial feel: African throws, antiques and modem luxuries.
Dining
Guests will experience delicious cuisine; influenced by African flavours with strong Western culinary traditions- dining at the Lodge is an unforgettable and delightful experience. Choose from an array of stunning venues, including the dining deck or the open air boma, complemented by Singita’s unique bush wine cellar.
Facilities
Activities include morning and evening game drives, offering the chance to spot wildlife, including lion, buffalo, elephant, hippo, cheetah and rhino in the safety of open safari vehicles accompanied by a ranger and guide. Guests are also invited to join in bush walks and mountain biking, or at the lodge, unwind around the swimming pool in the main lodge and make use of the gym and spa facilities available.
