Tongabezi, Victoria Falls

Location

A luxury lodge situated on the banks of the Zambezi River near Victoria Falls, Tongabezi combines romance with exclusivity in this privately-owned hotel. Located a mere 18km upstream from Victoria Falls itself, the hotel can be accessed from Livingstone Airport via a 25-minute road transfer. Alternatively, guests can fly to Livingstone via Lusaka.

Accommodation

Five stylishly luxurious houses and River Cottages and the Garden Cottage accommodate guests at the Tongabezi. All the houses are unique in design and command stunning views over the Zambezi River, with added features including sunken baths, private balcony and decking, and folding doors. Other rooms include the Nut, Dog, Tree and Bird House, in addition to the Honeymoon House.

Dining

Whilst private dining on one of the open air decks is optional, Tongabezi allows guests to break bread with other guests at the dining table hosted by the gregarious manager. Otherwise, guests can venture further afield to experience a Sampan boat dinner, anchored offshore in the Zambezi River. 

Facilities

General facilities include several private chill out areas, including the new ‘Lookout’ featuring incredible decking and views over the Zambezi River and the lodge swimming pool. Most of the activities revolve around the Victoria Falls; however, guests are also invited to participate in guided fishing trips, cultural walks, sunset river cruises, elephant back safaris, white water rafting and more.
