Location

Uga Bay is located on Sri Lanka’s east coast, on a beautiful white-sand beach. This exclusive hotel is located close to folksy villages and markets in Sri Lanka that are drenched in colour, as well as traditional Hindu temples and a Dutch fort at nearby Batticaloa, as well as the ancient town of Polonnaruwa with giant Buddha statues and thirteenth century ruins reminiscent of Angkor.

Accommodation at the hotel is tailor-made to suite your individual requirements. 22 rooms offer a heightened view from upstairs, complete with a balcony, and 22 offer beach access from the bottom floor. Take a Beach Villa for a romantic two-storied private villa by the sea, with your own private open-air plunge-pool and terrace. Other options include the Beach Studio that has beach access and a ground-floor balcony, and an Ocean Studio for a private balcony, rain shower and an upper-floor balcony.

Dining 

The restaurant at the hotel looks out over the infinity pool to the sea, which is where the fresh fish served each day is sourced. The restaurant supports local fishermen, and you have the chance to enjoy the catch of the day. There are no set mealtimes, you can eat whenever you’re hungry. Another dining alternative is private dining, which allows you to choose a variety of atmospheres for your meals, from cabanas to barbecues on the beach.
