Start by dropping off your hired car at the Coastal Cashews, and catch a 4X4 transfer to the lodge. Set on the pristine shores of the Maputaland coast, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, this 24-bed luxury lodge is the ideal place to stay whilst discovering one of the most unspoilt wilderness beaches in the African continent. Mabibi is a magical place of coastal forests, grasslands, bush, shimmering lakes and exquisite sandy beaches. Its crystal clear and warm waters offer South Africa's best snorkelling and fantastic off-shore scuba diving. 

Accommodation is in a collection of thatched suites, each of which comes with a private balcony, spacious en suite bathroom and breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness. Other facilities include a swimming pool, a delightful restaurant and a small spa. The resort is located only metres from the beach and a 25-minute drive from Lake Sibaya – Southern Africa's largest freshwater lake - which is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park that's a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In season, you can also admire turtles laying eggs, whale sharks, dolphins and many other sea animals indigenous to the stretch of coast. 

On day 4, transfer back to Coastal Cashews to pick up your hire car. Continue to Richard’s Bay Airport where your self-drive ends.
