Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular park in Uganda and certainly the most scenic. Stretching from the cratered foothills of the Rwenzori ranges in the north, it extends along the shores of Lake Edward to the remote Ishasha River in the south.

With one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any national park in the world - with more than 500 different bird species and 100 mammal species - it is excellent for wildlife spotting and the mass of mountains that edge the plains make for great hiking. The park incorporates a wide variety of habitats that range from savannah and wetlands to gallery and lowland forest.
