About

Beach | Fishing | Food & wine | Golf | Ski
Location
Located in the centre of Sweden’s west coast, just north of Gothenburg, the hotel has direct access to the beach. Its seaside location means excellent fishing and sailing opportunities while the surrounding Swedish countryside offers relaxing walks and hikes amongst picturesque rolling hills. There’s even seasonal skiing nearby.
Accommodation
Once the summer residence of mill owner and captain of industry Emil Haeger, the hotel’s high gables and wooden construction are all original. Inside, the designers have done much to preserve the building’s period charm while bringing in modern features. Wooden dressing tables rub shoulders with high-speed broadband and each of the 14 rooms have their own, individual style. Expect rooms adorned with floral print duvets and paintings of the Swedish countryside. Comfortable chaise longues make it all to easy to curl up with a good book.
Dining
With several awards and nominations, it’s not hard to see why the hotel’s restaurant is so popular. In the summer, guests can enjoy their dinner in the manicured gardens or on the hotel’s terrace overlooking the lake. Everything served is homemade and the menu is based on local, organic produce. Dishes include seafood from Gothenburg’s world-famous fish auction, cheeses from small dairies in western Sweden and free-range chicken garnished with fresh herbs and currants from the hotel’s garden. A typical desert consists of organic ice cream with meringue and dried berries. Freshly baked scones, west Swedish cheeses and locally made marmalade make up the delicious afternoon tea.
Facilities
The hotel is as much about its setting and grounds as it is its 1900’s architecture. Whether it’s a walk in the gardens or an evening drink on the porch, you can be sure that your stay here will be relaxing. There’s bike rental to explore the surrounding countryside and a nearby 9-hole golf course to tee off from. The owner Ellika and her small team of staff do everything to maintain the hotel’s homely atmosphere and to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
