Introduction

Kirkenes
Close to the Finnish and Russian borders, Kirkenes is one of Norway’s remotest outposts – a wild location with a rich Sami culture and with a distinct frontier feel. As the end point for Hurtigruten's northbound voyages, it still sees its fair share of footfall, and many come here simply to experience the isolation of it all.
