Idyllically set on the shores of a remote fjord, Norway’s Malangen Resort is, in many ways, the ideal winter retreat. Making the most of a new direct transfer from Tromso Airport, starting for the 2018/19 winter season, this tailor-made break affords three nights at Malangen, with time to explore on optional excursions ranging from snowmobiling and husky sledding to cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. We’ve even included half-board dining and a night in the wilds at remote Camp Nikka. Located 20 minutes from Malangen, it’s the ideal spot for viewing the Northern Lights.

UK/Malangen Resort
Your winter break begins with included airport lounge access before your flight out to Tromso and a 90-minute transfer to Malangen Resort. Then, having checked into your room, you’ll have the rest of the day a to relax and enjoy the scenery, perhaps enjoying a sauna or taking in the views from one of Malangen’s hot tubs. In the evening, you’ll enjoy the first of your included meals, a delicious dinner designed to showcase the very best in fresh Norwegian produce; there’s everything from locally caught fish from the fjord to reindeer and lamb from the Lyngen Alps.

Malangen Resort & Camp Nikka
Spend two days exploring Malangen’s Arctic wilderness with a full spread of optional excursions. You might choose to speed across frozen trails on snowmobiles or husky sleds, or get active with cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. And, to help you make the most of your stay, we’ve included a Northern Lights watch at Camp Nikka. Tucked away in the wilds, around 20 minutes from the resort itself, this camp is ideal for viewing the aurora, with a cosy lavvu tent, a roaring fire and hot drinks and a light meal on hand as you wait for the lights to appear. Even if you drift off to sleep, a Northern Lights alarm will sound a Sami song to ensure you don’t miss a thing. You’ll then return to the resort at around 1am to spend the rest of the night in your resort room.
