After breakfast, check out of your hotel and drive to Darjeeling. Check in to the Glenburn Tea Estate. Glenburn is a plantation retreat that stands on a hillock above the banks of the River Rungeet, high in the Himalayas, overlooked by the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range. It was started by a Scottish tea company in 1859, and was then passed on to one of India’s most pioneering tea plantation families, the Prakashes. The vineyards of Europe and other parts of the world, where visitors observe the winemaking process and taste the produce, inspired the tea estate.
