Whilst here, either soak up the sun on the lake's beautiful beaches, swim in the clear waters, or dive into the infinity pool. You can also enjoy various water sports such as snorkelling, fishing, sailing, kayaking, waterskiing, wake boarding and fun tubing. In the evening, finish the day with a sunset cruise on board one of the lodge's dhows.

Mukulumadzi
On arrival at Blantyre International Airport, a representative of Robin Pope Safaris will meet you, and escort you on a 2.5-hour drive through colourful local scenes of villages, agriculture and bush. The camp is located on the confluence of the Shire and Mkulumadzi rivers, within the Majete Wildlife Reserve, 70km southwest of Blantyre, southern Malawi.
Majete is Malawi's only Big Five Reserve, and also one of its largest protected areas, covering an area of 70,000 acres. The reserve is located within the Miombo woodland ecoregion, which dominates its higher lying areas in the west of the park. Combretum and riparian forest are mosaicked across the east of Majete.
If you arrive in the morning, enjoy lunch looking out over the Shire River, or if you arrive in the afternoon, enjoy afternoon tea a night game drive. The Majete Wildlife Reserve is the perfect place to start your safari - David Livingstone is recorded to have entered Malawi by way of the Shire River.

Pumulani
After breakfast, you will transfer to Pumulani Lodge on a scenic 5-hour drive that will pass through a game area and rural villages. You will then reach the Nankumba Peninsula of Lake Malawi, which is recognised as one of the most beautiful shores of the lake - it also borders the Lake Malawi National Park. Set up to protect the cichlid fish unique to the area, in 1984 the park was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Pumulani is exclusively situated on the west side of the Nankumba Peninsula, surrounded by national park. It has ten villas, which are scattered around the hillside and are individual in shape and style, and have spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and extensive sitting areas. They have front sliding doors that open onto decks that are elevated above the ground for optimal views.
The remote beach setting is ideal for those who want to relax, soak up the sun or swim in the clear blue waters of the lake. There's also an infinity pool near the central dining area that has grand views over the lake.
For those seeking activity the lodge offers many water sports like snorkelling, fishing, sailing, kayaking, water-skiing, wake boarding and fun tube rides (all motorized activities are charged extra). At the end of the day climb aboard a dhow and let the experienced local crewmen take you sailing into the sunset.
