Beginning in Banff, you’ll explore glacier-fed lakes, alpine towns and soaring mountain peaks before boarding the iconic Rocky Mountaineer for a two-day journey across some of Canada’s most breathtaking landscapes. From the golden hues of Kamloops to the wild beauty of Jasper National Park, you’ll enjoy immersive wildlife tours and unforgettable glacial experiences. Then, travel the legendary Icefields Parkway back to Calgary, pausing at ancient glaciers, shimmering lakes and sky-high viewpoints along the way.

Day by day itinerary

Days 1-2
UK to Calgary & Banff

Begin your adventure with included airport lounge access before flying to Calgary. On arrival, you’ll be met and transferred through the foothills of Alberta to Banff, a charming resort town set amid the towering peaks of the Rockies. Settle into your chosen hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.

The following day, a full-day tour introduces you to Banff’s natural wonders and scenic highlights. Ride the Banff Gondola to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for panoramic views across the Bow Valley, then cruise the glacier-fed waters of Lake Minnewanka as your guide shares insights into the region’s history and geology. You’ll also visit local landmarks such as Bow Falls, the Hoodoos and Surprise Corner, with a light lunch included along the way.

Day 3
Banff to Kamloops aboard the Rocky Mountaineer

This morning, board the iconic Rocky Mountaineer for a spectacular journey through the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Sit back and relax as you pass through breathtaking scenery, including snow-capped peaks, pristine lakes and verdant valleys. Highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, and Rogers Pass. As you travel, you’ll be treated to delicious breakfast and lunch served onboard, all while enjoying panoramic views through the large windows of your luxurious carriage. Arriving in Kamloops in the early evening, you’ll have time to explore the city or simply relax at your hotel.

Day 4
Kamloops to Jasper

Your journey continues aboard the Rocky Mountaineer as you head toward Jasper. Today, you’ll pass through the rugged beauty of the Cariboo and Monashee mountains, following the Fraser River. Keep your eyes peeled for moose and other wildlife as you travel through vast forests and past sparkling lakes. The route also takes you past Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies, and over Yellowhead Pass. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in the picturesque town of Jasper, surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Jasper National Park.

Day 5
Jasper Wildlife Discovery Tour

Today is dedicated to exploring Jasper National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A guided wildlife tour will introduce you to some of the region’s lesser-known scenic spots, as well as the chance to encounter elk, deer, mountain goats or even bears in their natural habitat. Your expert local guide will share insights into the park’s ecology and history, with plenty of stops for photographs along the way. This is a relaxed driving tour with minimal walking, offering a memorable glimpse into Canada’s untamed wilderness.

Day 6
Icefields Parkway to Calgary

Travel the world-famous Icefields Parkway today, one of the most scenic highways on earth. You’ll stop to explore key highlights, from the emerald waters of Bow Lake to the roaring cascades of Athabasca Falls. At the Columbia Icefield, board an Ice Explorer vehicle for a thrilling drive across the ancient Athabasca Glacier, then enjoy jaw-dropping views from the glass-bottomed Glacier Skywalk, suspended above the Sunwapta Valley. A hearty buffet lunch is included, before continuing on to Calgary.

Days 7-8
Explore Calgary & return to UK

Spend a leisurely morning exploring Calgary. Perhaps stroll through the revitalised East Village, visit the Calgary Tower, or sample Alberta beef in a downtown steakhouse. In the evening, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to the UK, arriving on Day 8.
