Day by day itinerary
Day
1
UK/Naples/Sorrento
Start your trip with complimentary airport lounge access before your flight out to Naples. On arrival, you'll be met by your private chauffeur and brought, around the gulf, to your choice of accommodation. Our options are either perched atop the Sorrento cliffs, offering spectacular views from their terrace restaurants over the Bay of Naples and its Mt. Vesuvius icon, or a classic central hotel close to Sorrento's finest restaurants, and with a rooftop offering panoramic views in every direction.
Stay: Imperial Tramontano, Sorrento (Superior) / Hotel Ambasciatori, Sorrento (Deluxe)
Day
2
Amalfi Coast
Swapping shorelines, your chauffeur will bring you to the Amalfi Coast. While having a private driver will afford you the flexibility to explore at your own pace, don’t miss out on a stop at Amalfi and its multi-coloured jumble of historic houses, tumbling towards its azure, beach-dotted waters. Its cathedral is particularly impressive. There’s also Ravello, a town rich with musical heritage whose idyllic Villa Rufolo gardens inspired one Richard Wagner.
Stay: Imperial Tramontano, Sorrento (Superior) / Hotel Ambasciatori, Sorrento (Deluxe)

Pompeii, Herculaneum or Stabiae
Today you’ll discover the region’s fated Roman heritage, immaculately preserved under a sea of ash from the 1st-century eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. While Pompeii’s amphitheatres, giant tombs and stunningly frescoed houses rightly grab the headlines, Herculaneum’s mosaicked baths and Stabiae’s ridge-top villas offer a certain lesser-known intrigue. However, whichever you decide upon, your private expert guide will bring it all to life as you wander flagstone streets, dipping in and out of thousand-year-old shops and stunningly detailed residences.

Capri
Today the hotels private shuttle to the harbour to board a hydrofoil to Capri. A favourite among holidaying Roman emperors, this paradise island hides great ruined villas and colossal sculptures among its cliff jags and spectacularly verdant interior. In between, there’s everything from 700-year-old monasteries to 17th-century marbled churches. You’ll explore it all on a guided group tour, ending with a visit to the spectacular Gardens of Augustus. Here, verdant cascades of rich exoticism zigzag from its clifftop crags right down to the crashing ocean below.

End your trip with three days to relax and explore Sorrento. With your hotel just a short walk from the 14th-century San Francesco Cloisters and the palm-tree-lined Piazza Sant'Antonino, you’ll be perfectly poised to stroll the city’s cobbled streets. While away happy afternoons in pavement-side cafés, marvelling at its cathedral’s impressively gilded frescoes or simply relaxing on one of the nearby golden-sands beaches. There’s also more than 150 miles of hiking trails to explore, hugging the coast and roaming through lemon and olive groves populated with Mediterranean scrub where you can join an optional tour with tastings of local products from Limoncello to Mozzarella.
