Location
Even by Capri’s glamorous standards, the location and views here are fabulous. Perched on the hillside above Capri Marina, there’s a sweeping panorama of the Gulf of Naples, Vesuvius and craggy Ischia island. Staff can arrange spectacular private car and speedboat or helicopter transfers from or to Naples airport if you wish to unleash your inner Audrey Hepburn. The hotel is equidistant from the bustling marina and the famous Blue Grotto, and there are delightful restaurants and boutique shops in Anacapri itself.
Accommodation
Most rooms and suites have a balcony or terrace with views across the bay, and two deluxe doubles and several suites have a private heated pool and garden or patio. The furnishings and decor are impeccably stylish, with pale wood, terracotta or ceramic floors, clean lines and plain walls setting off the views beyond. Even the smaller Classic rooms are comfortably spacious.
Dining
L’Olivo is the only restaurant on Capri with two Michelin stars, where chef Andrea Migliaccio subtly reinterprets regional dishes. A tasting menu of 5, 7 or 9 plates gives you the chance to sample a little of everything. At Il Riccio, with one Michelin star, the focus is on superb Neapolitan seafood, while the casual roof terrace ambience of Bistrot Ragù offers a wide selection of traditional mains. The hotel cellar offers tastings of the best Italian wines, and draws on over 900 wines from around the world.
Facilities
The public areas are a warren of arches, vaulted ceilings and pillars, adorned with eclectic art from owner Tonino Cacace’s private collection. The Capri Beauty Farm spa brings together a truly holistic mix of methodologies designed by a highly qualified team of doctors, therapists, beauticians and dieticians. Its signature treatment is ‘La Scuola delle Gambe’ (a.k.a. Leg School), combining bio-stimulation treatments for the skin, muscles and blood circulation of the lower limb. In the daytime, Il Riccio reinvents as a relaxing private beach club, with a broad open terrace where you can look over the bay and ponder a piloted private speedboat excursion.
