Location
Situated opposite Mana Pools National Park, a World Heritage site across the Zambezi River, the area offers stunning scenery – a combination of 120km of riverfront, high game concentrations and the magnificent Zambezi Escarpment. The camp can be accessed via a short, 35-minute air transfer from Lusaka to Jeki airstrip, followed by a short drive to the river and 40-minute boat transfer to the camp.
Accommodation
Eight Bedouin-style tents, including a family suite with a private pool accommodate guests at the camp. Spaced out along the river under the shade of sausage and mahogany trees, they allow plenty of privacy and space for wildlife to roam. Inside, guests will find four-poster beds, teak furnishings, flowing white fabrics and mosquito nets.
Dining
The camp’s culinary experiences are quite exceptional, with the chance to dine by the light of a campfire deep in the bush, by starlight on the riverside deck, or by moonlight on an island in the Zambezi.
Facilities
General facilities include a main communal area, small library and a large swimming pool. Sausage Tree Camp offers a range of flexible activities, including walking safaris, day and night game drives, relaxing morning and afternoon boat cruises on the Zambezi River, canoeing and fishing.
