Introduction
The landscape of Skåne is one of the richest farming districts in northern Europe, with flat horizons and wide-open spaces full of fertile soil. With a dramatic rocky coastline to the north and sweeping sandy beaches to the south, Skåne is a photographers dream.
Keen fishermen can take a trip along the Apple Coast or enjoy the catch offered by the rivers and lakes in the northeast of the province, including Lake Ringsjön.
Interrupting Skåne's rolling pastures, the region's lush forested areas are a surprising place to go in search of tranquillity and relaxation and a number of spas have sprung up and turned the area's forests into luxurious retreats.
Temporarily leave the peace of the countryside behind you with a trip into Malmö, where the Old Town offers a host of attractions and picturesque squares. Climb to the top of the Turning Torso building and look out over Malmöhus Castle before heading onto the region's coastline.
