The next day, you'll begin with a chef-led walk among the bustling markets and food stalls of Old Delhi, gaining a unique insight into the city's food scene. It's also a chance to take in some of the capital's ancient monuments and exquisite architecture, some of which dates back as far as the Mughal Empire. You’ll then head over to New Delhi to take in everything from the great 12th-century Qutub Minar victory tower to the majestic tomb of a Mughal Emperor. You’ll finish with some more modern grandeur, with India Gate, President House and Parliament House.

It’s a vision of regal chambers and commanding 16th-century walls. The day then culminates in a private sunset tour of the Taj Mahal, watching as this world wonder’s marble exterior turns golden rosy in the dying light. You’ll then end the day in one of Agra’s finest hotels, where the likes of spas, ornate suites and palatial grounds overlook the Taj itself.

There's everything from marbled tombs to impossible grand gates. You'll then arrive into Ranthambore National Park. Once the hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur, today it's one of the best places in the world to spot tigers in the wild, set among the park's lake palaces, chhatri pavilions and a 1,000-year-old fort. Over the next three days, it's all showcased on naturalist-led tours and five included game drives, returning to gourmet full-board dining and spa treatments at your luxury tented camp.

The next day, a full private tour will see you the millennium-old Amber Fort, whose imposing walls and hilltop perch hides interiors mosaicked in ivory and glasswork. Descending, you'll then be treated to a privileged glimpse into the city's palaces, taking in their multi-tiered grandeur and traditional Rajasthani heritage, including royal robes and armouries.
