This luxury Rajasthan holiday will introduce you to both northern India's incredible royal heritage and its unique wildlife. You'll start your tour in the eclectic and inspiring city of Delhi, where you will take a fascinating tour of its vibrant present and near-ancient past before you continue to Agra and, yes, the Taj Mahal. Then, over a three-day safari in Ranthambore National Park, you'll search for tigers and leopards on included twice-daily game drives. It all finishes in Jaipur, where palaces and forts remember a regal past. Throughout, every stop is brought to life by included private tours, the services of a private driver and stays in some of India's best accommodation. Think landmark city hotels and luxury tented camps.

Delhi
On arrival, a private transfer will see you to your landmark spa hotel among the tree-shaded boulevards of New Delhi. The next day, you'll begin with a chef-led walk among the bustling markets and food stalls of Old Delhi, gaining a unique insight into the city's food scene. It's also a chance to take in some of the capital's ancient monuments and exquisite architecture, some of which dates back as far as the Mughal Empire. You’ll then head over to New Delhi to take in everything from the great 12th-century Qutub Minar victory tower to the majestic tomb of a Mughal Emperor. You’ll finish with some more modern grandeur, with India Gate, President House and Parliament House.

Agra
After breakfast, your private driver will see you to Agra – the ancient Mughal capital. Here, you’ll be treated to a private city tour, focusing on the UNESCO-listed Agra Fort. It’s a vision of regal chambers and commanding 16th-century walls. The day then culminates in a private sunset tour of the Taj Mahal, watching as this world wonder’s marble exterior turns golden rosy in the dying light. You’ll then end the day in one of Agra’s finest hotels, where the likes of spas, ornate suites and palatial grounds overlook the Taj itself.

Ranthambore
Today, you'll be brought to Ranthambore, visiting Fatehpur Sikri on route. For 14 short years, this was the capital of the Mughal Empire before being abandoned, leaving behind a perfectly preserved collection of 17th-century ruins. There's everything from marbled tombs to impossible grand gates. You'll then arrive into Ranthambore National Park. Once the hunting ground of the Maharaja of Jaipur, today it's one of the best places in the world to spot tigers in the wild, set among the park's lake palaces, chhatri pavilions and a 1,000-year-old fort. Over the next three days, it's all showcased on naturalist-led tours and five included game drives, returning to gourmet full-board dining and spa treatments at your luxury tented camp.

Jaipur
Your private driver will bring you on to Jaipur. Known as the ‘Pink City’, it's the capital of the colourful state of Rajasthan, cloaked in centuries-old city walls and watched over by historic forts.. You'll even stay in a historic royal mansion. The next day, a full private tour will see you the millennium-old Amber Fort, whose imposing walls and hilltop perch hides interiors mosaicked in ivory and glasswork. Descending, you'll then be treated to a privileged glimpse into the city's palaces, taking in their multi-tiered grandeur and traditional Rajasthani heritage, including royal robes and armouries. The 18th-century Jantar Mantar observatory is a further highlight. This evening, another special experience awaits as you join a local family at their home for a cookery demonstration and a delicious dinner.

Delhi
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of your hotel and take a private transfer through the Rajasthan plains to Delhi, where you'll spend a night at an airport hotel before your flight home the next day. Depending on your preferences, you might want to explore more of Jaipur or the Indian capital.
