Location

This Relais & Châteaux property is located by a beautiful lake and surrounded by the dense, tropical forest of India’s most famous national park, Ranthambore. The nearest airport is in Jaipur, 170km away. There is an airfield in Sawai Madhopur, 14km away, as well as a helipad 4km from the camp. The nearest railway station is Sawai Madhopur Junction, just 12km away, with trains arriving each day from Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Jodhpur and other cities.

Accommodation

Sher Bagh’s 12 luxury tents are all air conditioned and come with en suite bathrooms, private, covered verandas and hand-crafted furnishings made from rosewood and teak. One has a private jacuzzi, another a private pool.

Dining

Meals are most often had communally around the campfire, usually accompanied by tales of all the wildlife you saw that day on game drives. There is also a dining tent (for when the weather calls for eating inside), a fantastic outdoor bar and a central lodge with a sitting room and cocktail bar. Food is at the heart of the camp experience, and you’re often encouraged to take part in informal cooking or baking classes, or to browse the organic garden for fresh ingredients for your meal.

Facilities

The camp radiates a colonial charm and has a wonderful infinity pool overlooking the lake and the rolling hills of Ranthambore. There’s also a Jungle Spa, exclusive safari vehicles available to hire, a Safari Chic Boutique, complimentary internet, and of course day and evening game drives. You can even go looking for tigers on horseback.
